About me
I am a researcher in applied mathematics with interests in numerical analysis, finite element methods, and scientific computing. My work focuses on surface PDEs, phase-field models, and computational methods for problems arising in fluid dynamics and biomolecular systems.
I completed my PhD working with Maxim Olshanskii and Annalisa Quaini (advisors). My dissertation is available here.
The department nominated my dissertation for the University Outstanding Dissertation Award.
Much of my research studies interface dynamics, vesicle models, and reduced-order approaches for complex PDE systems, with emphasis on stability, accuracy, and computational efficiency.
Research
My research background is in computational mathematics and scientific computing, with an emphasis on finite element methods, unfitted methods for complex and evolving geometries, computational fluid dynamics, and numerical methods for partial differential equations. I am particularly interested in fluid-dynamics models, including the Navier–Stokes and Shallow Water equations, as well as coupled and multiphysics PDE systems.
I am increasingly interested in combining these foundations with reduced-order and data-driven approaches—such as proper orthogonal decomposition, machine learning, and Scientific Machine Learning—to build efficient surrogate models for computationally expensive fluid simulations.
For Students. Undergraduate and graduate students interested in research projects are welcome to explore these areas. I also organize a weekly research reading group at SDU University where we study foundational material and discuss recent developments in the field.

Advising and mentoring
For me, it is especially important to work with young talents and help them grow, strengthen their skills, and reach their full potential. In the past, I have trained mathematics olympiad contestants. One of my students earned a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
I currently work with university students, guiding them through advanced research areas, career decisions, and PhD opportunities. If you are a student at SDU University, feel free to bother me on campus, otherwise you may find usefull information through the link below.
